Joys Bought with Agonies

Joys Bought with Agonies

As a child of the One True God, saved by His grace through faith in our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, I live in a mystery of joy.

Peter writes, “Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:8-9).

This joy, unseen yet felt, is a gift beyond words, a treasure from the Fathers heart.

Charles Spurgeon captured it: “And all the unknown joys he gives, were bought with agonies unknown.”

Every smile of the soul, every pulse of peace, every hope that lifts me—purchased by Jesus on that dark cross.

His suffering, hidden in depths I cannot fathom, bore the weight of my sin, securing joys I taste now and will know fully one day.

Faith in Him, the Son who pleased the Father, brings me this gift, with the Spirit stirring my heart to rejoice.

I feel it—joy inexpressible—when trials fade before His presence.

It is not a joy I earn, but one He gives, flowing from agonies I will never grasp.

The thief prowls, the world dims, yet this joy holds, rooted in the unseen love of Christ.

Through faith, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit dwell with me, turning sorrow into glory.

Watchman Nee said, “Joy is the echo of Gods life in us, born of His pain.”

C.S. Lewis wrote, “Joy is the serious business of heaven, paid for by the grief of the cross.”

John Bunyan added, “The joys we know are but shadows of what Christ bought with His blood.”

So I trust, I rejoice, I rest in His agonies that won my joys.

Dear friend, embrace the unknown joys today. Believe in Jesus. Let His purchase lift your countenance. Dry those tears chosen one… and Pray!

Let us pray: Father, thank You for joys bought by Your Sons agonies. Fill us with true faith and Your inexpressible joy by Your Spirit. Hold us close. In Jesus name, Amen.
