God In Human Form

God In Human Form

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV

“Faith in Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, is the only means by which we can be saved from our sins and have eternal life.” – Charles Spurgeon

This verse from John 1:14 highlights the miraculous event of the Word, which is Jesus Christ, becoming flesh and dwelling among us. This is a profound statement of the incarnation, where God took on human form in the person of Jesus Christ. As Spurgeon points out, faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved from our sins and have eternal life. This is a theme that is echoed throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation.

As C.S. Lewis writes in “Mere Christianity,”

“Christianity is a coming to terms with the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that God loves us and gave Himself for us.”

This is the core message of the Gospel, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can experience the grace and truth that are offered to us.

AW Tozer, in his book “The Knowledge of the Holy,” writes about the importance of knowing God through Jesus Christ:

“The knowledge of the Holy is the only true happiness, and the only true happiness is the knowledge of the Holy. To know God is to know the source of all joy, all peace, all contentment, all satisfaction, and all true happiness.”

This is a powerful statement about the transformative power of knowing Christ, and it is only through faith in Him that we can experience this deep and abiding joy.

Watchman Nee, in his book “The Normal Christian Life,” writes about the importance of faith in Jesus Christ for our daily lives:

“The normal Christian life is not a life of perpetual victory, but a life of continual victory.”

This is a reminder that, as believers, we have the assurance of victory in Christ, but we must also live out our faith on a daily basis.

DL Moody, in his sermon “The Importance of Faith,” emphasizes the centrality of faith in the Christian life:

“Faith is the only thing in all the universe that can move the arm that moved the world.”

This is a powerful statement about the transformative power of faith, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can experience the power of God in our lives.

I John 1:14 is a powerful reminder of the significance of the incarnation and the importance of faith in Jesus Christ. As we trust in Him, we can experience the grace and truth that are offered to us, and we can live out our faith in daily victory. May we always remember the centrality of Christ in our lives and the transformative power of faith in Him.
