Today, we’re going to explore an amazing promise from God’s Word, found in 1 Peter 5:10.
This verse talks about God’s plan to make us perfect, stable, strong, and settled. Let’s dive into this incredible truth!
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
1 Peter 5:10 NIV

Point 1: Suffering is a part of life, but it’s not the end goal. God wants to use those difficult times to make us stronger and more like Him. As the great theologian Charles Spurgeon said:
“Afflictions are the trials in which faith is proved, and by which it is made manifest.” (Spurgeon, “Morning and Evening”)

Point 2: God’s plan is to perfect us, not just to make us comfortable. A.W. Tozer writes:
“The purpose of God is not to make us happy, nor to make us rich, nor to make us successful, but to make us holy.” (Tozer, “The Pursuit of God”)

Point 3: God wants to establish, strengthen, and settle us. C.S. Lewis explains:
“The process of becoming what God made you to be is what I call ‘sanctification.’ The alternatives are either to be God’s creature, or to be His rebel.” (Lewis, “Mere Christianity”)
Point 4: D.L. Moody said:
“The Christian’s life is a warfare, and he needs armor and weapons. He needs the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and the breastplate of righteousness.” (Moody, “The Way to God”)
God’s plan for our lives is to make us perfect, stable, strong, and settled. He uses the difficulties we face to shape us into the people He wants us to be. Remember, dear children of the Most High God, that you are not alone in your struggles. God is with you, guiding and strengthening you every step of the way.
Scripture:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 (KJV)
May God bless you, as you walk in His love and follow His plan for your lives.
