As children of God, we often find ourselves in need of strength and guidance to navigate the trials and challenges of this world. It is in these moments that prayer becomes a powerful tool for us to connect with our heavenly Father and draw closer to His heart. In Ephesians 3:14-21, Paul demonstrates the importance of praying for spiritual growth and unity among believers.
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” (Ephesians 3:14-17)
Charles Spurgeon wisely noted, “Prayer is the Christian’s vital breath, and it is by this means alone we can maintain our spiritual life.” This passage reminds us that prayer is not just a mere request, but an intimate conversation with God.

Cs Lewis wrote, “The prayers which come from a humble heart are never lost.
They may seem to be unanswered for a time, but they are not. God uses many ways of answering prayers.
Sometimes He says ‘Yes’; sometimes ‘No’; often ‘Wait.’” As we pray for strength and unity, we must trust that God’s answers may not always align with our desires, but they will always be for our ultimate good.
“But you, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.” (1 John 2:28-29)
AW Tozer wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is going to shape our prayers. The more we understand Who He is, the more intelligently will we pray, and the more fervently will we seek to know Him.” As we seek strength and unity through prayer, let us also seek a deeper understanding of who God is and His character.

Watchman Nee wrote, “The Christian’s prayer is not so much a request as an acknowledgment of God’s power and love. It is a confession of our dependence on Him and a recognition of His omnipotence.”
As we pray for strength and unity, let us remember that it is not just about what we ask for, but who we are asking –
the all-powerful, loving God.

May this prayer become our own as we seek the power of Christ in our lives:
“Father, I kneel before You, acknowledging Your glorious riches and asking that you strengthen me with power through your Spirit. May Christ dwell in my heart through faith, and may I be rooted and established in love. Give me the ability to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Your love for me, so that I may know this love that surpasses knowledge. Fill me with all the fullness of God, in Christ Jesus, now and forevermore. Amen.”
