“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”
1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV

A Christian’s Quest for Reality in a World of Deception
In a world where deceit and misinformation reign supreme, finding truth can be a daunting task, especially for children of the Most High God.
As followers of Christ, we are called to live according to the truth, yet the forces of darkness seek to obscure it.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 NIV
“But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”
John 3:21 NIV

What is Truth?
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”
John 4:23 NIV
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:32 (NIV)
Truth is what exists in reality, regardless of what we claim or believe.
Truth is rooted in the character of God, who is the embodiment of truth.
“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
Deuteronomy 32:4 NIV

“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.””
John 4:24 NIV
“Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the one true God; whoever takes an oath in the land will swear by the one true God. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.”
Isaiah 65:16 NIV
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,”
Ephesians 6:13-14 NIV

God’s truth is the standard against which all other truths are measured.
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” – Psalm 145:18 (NIV)
How to Find Truth:
- Seek God: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)

- Study the Scriptures: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
- Pray for Wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5 (NIV)
- Test Everything: “Test all things; hold fast what is good.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (ESV)
- Seek Wise Counsel: “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” – Proverbs 11:14 (ESV)

- DL Moody: “God never made a promise that was too good to come true.”
- CS Lewis: “A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic – on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg – or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse.” (Mere Christianity)
- AW Tozer: “The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making poor progress is because they have not yet come to the end of themselves. We must come to the end of ‘flesh’ and ‘self’ before we can come to the beginning of faith.”
- Watchman Nee: “The Christian faith is not a set of teachings, but a person – the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is not a matter of accepting a doctrine, but of accepting a person.”
- Charles Spurgeon: “The Word of God is the Christian’s sword, but it is a sword that needs to be taken out of its scabbard and used in the battle of life.”
In a world where deception and misinformation abound, finding truth is a crucial aspect of the Christian life. As children of the Most High God, we are called to live according to the truth, seeking God, studying the Scriptures, praying for wisdom, testing everything, and seeking wise counsel.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 NIV
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”
John 17:17 NIV
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”
John 16:13 NIV
By embracing Gods Word we can uncover the truth and live a life that honors God.
“The truth will set you free” (John 8:32). May we, as followers of Christ, be freed from the shackles of deception and empowered to live a life of truth, wisdom, and faithfulness.
